Last year I challenged myself to 52 hikes in 52 weeks and this week marks hike 52. High five. It was a year of adventure, challenges, exploration, tears, highs, lows, joy, laughter and memories. I often set myself challenges and rarely achieve them so I was determined to finish this one. I trekked through rain, snow, sunshine, mist, mountains, creeks, beaches and everything in between. It has been an epic year.

To celebrate here is a roundup of my 52 hike challenge (insert fistpump here).

Last year I challenged myself to 52 hikes in 52 weeks and today marks hike 52. It has been an epic year.To celebrate here is a roundup of my 52 hike challenge (insert fistpump here).

Final Thoughts

I chose to do this challenge to see if I could mainly and to spend more time in nature (my happy place). I also wanted to explore more of New Zealand, to challenge myself and to push myself. Next time I would plan forward a bit more, I hated doing tracks more than once but sometimes, due to outside influences, it couldn’t be helped. Next time I would ensure that no track gets hiked more than twice (once preferably but you know, stuff happens). I would do more advanced hikes and multi-day hikes next time as well.

It was a rewarding, challenging, year that pushed me to my limits several times but such an epic year

What challenges have you set for yourself?

Let me know in the comments, I need a new challenge now!
